Welcome to the website of the Royal Adelaide Hospital

RAH was founded in 1840 and is part of the Central Adelaide Local Health Network.

RAH provides a specific range of tertiary referral services to the people of South Australia and the nearby states and territories, and a broad range of clinical services to people who rely on RAH as their regional or local hospital.

It is also involved in various areas of medical and health research, often in conjunction with the Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science (IMVS) and the University of Adelaide, for which it is a major teaching hospital and is closely affiliated with the Hanson Institute. In addition, a wide range of general as well as specialised clinical rotations are available.

As RAH is an accredited teaching hospital for all health professionals it offers basic training positions in internal medicine, surgery, and general practice, as well as advanced training in the areas listed below.

There are occasional employment opportunities which will be listed on our Employment Opportunities page and all our advertisements are on seek.com.au. Please direct all inquiries only to the contact people specified for each announcement.

The Department of Clinical Nursing of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Adelaide was established in collaboration with RAH. The department focuses on postgraduate students and high quality research in nursing practice. The Joanna Briggs Institute for Evidence Based Nursing and Midwifery is also located at the RAH.

We hope that you will find our web site both informative and interesting and I encourage you to contact us if you require any further information. For your convenience, wherever possible email addresses for staff are included.

Thank you for taking the time to visit the RAH website.
