Medical Staff Appointments - GENERAL TRAINEES

These positions are available for junior doctors who have not committed to a training program and would like the opportunity to experience a wide variety of clinical rotations.
Rotations are  available in:

• Anaesthetics
• Drug & Alcohol Services
• Emergency Medicine
• General Medicine
• Geriatrics
• Gynaecology
• Intensive Care
• Neurosurgery
• Orthopaedic & Spinal Injury Rehabilitation
• Paediatrics (at Women’s & Children’s Hospital)
• Palliative Care
• Psychiatry (Various sites)
• Various surgical rotations

And in community based terms such as:

• Northern Territory Aboriginal Health Service 
• SA Prison Health Service
• Second Storey (youth health)
• Sexual Health Clinic

Rotations
Term rotations are assigned by the Director of Postgraduate Education.

Rotations for TMOs throughout the year take into account the following:

• Stated preferences
• Overall balance of each individual roster throughout the year
• Provision of a suitably diverse training experience

Annual Leave
Annual leave planning is carried out at the beginning of each year.  All trainees will be invited to submit preferred dates for annual leave.  All trainees are allocated 5 weeks annual leave during the year and leave preferences are taken into account when assigning annual leave.
