Health in Men
Working together to foster men’s health and wellbeing in the community.
Men are becoming increasingly aware of their health needs and are showing a willingness to participate in activities that relate to their health. A collaborative health promoting initiative Health in Men (HIM) – Royal Adelaide Hospital Men’s Health Initiative includes health screening and referral, health education and research (both clinical and social). HIM employs evidence-based practice in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating health promotion activities for and with men. The reference group from RAH and the community includes health professionals and consumers with expertise and interest in men’s health, to ensure the most appropriate delivery of achievable and holistic health outcomes for men.
Significant partnerships have been developed for HIM, including community organisations:
HIM was launched in March 2003 in conjunction with Clipsal 500, with the support of over 120 guests and community partners and has continued to grow to include a range of activities and programs.
