Relaxation/Meditation Classes
A qualified therapist conducts these practical sessions which will enable you to learn techniques to assist you minimise stress in your life.
RELAXATION
- A passive technique
- Awareness placed on the physical body
- Works principally through the conscious mind
- Can be practised standing, sitting or lying and is motionless
- Encourages sound and peaceful sleep
- Beneficial to well-being. Widely used now in conjunction with conventional medicine to assist the healing process
MEDITATION
- An active technique
- Awareness centred on the mind. Works initially through the conscious mind then allows the subconscious mind to emerge
- Assumes a relaxed body, enabling the eventual stilling and centering of an inactive mind
- Uses such "tools" or techniques as guided imagery, sound, objects, movements, mantras, mandalas, reflection and the breath to achieve mental stillness
- Is generally practised sitting; however, can involve movement and action
Classes for 2007 will be held each Thursday from 12.00pm to 1pm.
Cost per six week course $33.00
- Course Number 1 – 27th March to 1st May
- Course Number 2 – 22nd May to 26th June
- Course Number 3 – 24th July to 28th August
- Course Number 4 – 2nd October to 6th November
Please note RAH Health Promotion has the right to cancel a course if there are insufficient participants booked and will refund any money paid.
