  We are validating the three-dimensional stereotactic surface projections (3D-SSP) package which uses the NEUROSTAT program (Dr. S. Minoshima, Departments of Radiology and Bioengineering, University of Washington, Seattle, USA). This package compares the cortical brain uptake of 18FDG on a voxel-by voxel basis with an age-matched normal database to give a Z-score map on the surface projections. This will be used concurrently with the visual interpretation of the conventional images of 18FDG uptake in the brain for the diagnosis of AD
