NURSING EDUCATION

Refresher and Re-Entry Nursing Programs

The Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing have recently made the transition back to nursing less of a financial burden by offering financial remuneration to nurses as well as subsidising the cost of some  programs. (previously no financial remuneration and a fee for program).

The refresher program is designed for Registered and Enrolled Nurses who are still registered/enrolled but who may have been out of acute clinical nursing areas for some time, and who need to update their skills and knowledge.

The re-entry program is designed for Registered and Enrolled nurses who have allowed their registration/enrolment to lapse. It is primarily for those whose registration/enrolment has lapsed within the previous 10 years. It provides opportunity to update nursing knowledge and skills to a level of competency that is a requirement of registration/enrolment and therefore allow them re-entry into the workforce.

Successful completion of this program entitles the participant to apply to the Nurses Board of South Australia for re-registration/re-enrolment.
