- Use of an internationally standardised Occupational Therapy (OT) assessment A.M.P.S. (Assessment of Motor & Process Skills) in the acute and rehabilitation setting.
- Evidence based practice including collaboration with the Joanna Briggs Institute.
- Outcome measures development – including capture of patient reported outcomes via electronic notebook.
- Documentation guidelines.
- Discharge planning protocols.
- Best practice guidelines for home assessments.
- Student fieldwork supervision - teaching and learning styles.
- Ongoing commitment to supporting/ training therapists from other organisations wanting to further develop their skills in a specific clinical area.
- Staff participation and provision of student tutorials and workshops for School of OT, University of SA.
- Provision of lectures, seminars and workshops by staff at relevant professional education forums.
- Burn Education – involvement in Burn Unit outreach education.
- Hosting of Burns Therapist ListServ.
- Supporting spinal cord injury management in rural areas - eg Mount Gambier clinic.
- Hosting splinting training workshops.
