Is the emergency department the best place for you?

If not, there are other options

Patient Bedside Entertainment

The bedside entertainment services at the Royal Adelaide Hospital are provided by Telstra and give patients access to a number of entertainment options on a pre-paid basis including digital television and radio channels, a range of movies on demand and internet access.

In addition to entertainment options, each patient’s bedside device has a dedicated phone and phone number to allow patients to make and receive calls during their stay. While patients need to purchase an entertainment package in order to make calls, they do not have to pay for incoming calls to their phone.

Patients are able to purchase entertainment packages directly from their bedside device through Visa and MasterCard credit/debit cards. Once an entertainment package is selected, online steps guide patients through the transaction process.

4 Hour Package$6.50
1 Day Package$13.75
5 Day Package$45
30 Day Package$220
30 Day to 60 day Package upgrade$110
Pre-Paid telephone calls$20

Patient Support Services Assistant (PSSA) staff will provide patients with information about the bedside device when settling a patient into their room. This includes discussing entertainment services, payment options, telephone use and other important information. There is also a user guide on the bedside device for patients to refer to.
