The Spinal Unit

The specialty coordinates its own operating and outpatient sessions and weekly combined clinical meeting.

The Hand and Upper Limb Service

Mr M. Sandow (Head), Mr R. Pope, Mr G.Bain - in collaboration with Plastic Surgeons.
The service provides elective and emergency cover for hand and upper limb conditions. The specialty also coordinates its own operating and outpatient sessions and weekly combined clinical meeting.

The Knee and Sports Injuries Service

Mr K. Angel (Head), Mr B. Wallace, Mr F.Ghan, Mr S. Brumby, Mr R. Clarnette, Mr A. Mintz.
The Service coordinates its own operating and outpatient sessions developing a consulting service within the Hospital.

The Orthopaedic Trauma Service

Mr A. Pohl (Head) and Mr A. von der Borch, Mr A. Ingman, Mr K. Angel, Mr D. Teague, Prof. D. Howie, Mr M. Sandow, Mr F. Ghan, Mr B. Wallace, Mr R Pope, Mr A Mintz, Mr D.Hall, Mr G.Dracopoulos, Mr M.Penta, Mr C.Cain, Mr G.Bain, Mr R. Clarnette, Mr S. Brumby and Mr R. Crowley.

The Service provides emergency and elective service for orthopaedic trauma. The Service coordinates post-take surgery lists and runs Fracture Clinics. A fortnightly Trauma Service Meeting provides a peer-review and continuing education service. The Trauma Research Fellow is appointed to promote research at all levels and foster research, design and development programmes.

Joint Replacement and Reconstruction Service

Prof. D. Howie (Head)
This Service acts in a consultative role for joint replacement and reconstructive procedures undertaken by the majority of consultant staff of the Department. A fortnightly Arthroplasty Unit Meeting provides a peer-review and continuing education service.

Tumour Service

Mr M. Clayer (Head)
This Service provides emergency and elective service for orthopaedic tumour cases. This Service also provides a consultative service for all tumour cases for the Department.

Foot and Ankle Service

Mr G. Dracopoulos (Head) and Mr R. Crowley
This Service provides specialist treatment of disorders of the foot and ankle.
