Dermatology

The Dermatology Unit provides inpatient, outpatient and Day Center treatment for all skin disorders.

Location

Dermatology has 2 beds located in S5 and the Day Patient service is located on Ward D8 in the East Wing of the Hospital.

Inpatient Services

There are four beds allowing the inpatient diagnosis and treatment of serious skin complaints. The unit also provides a consultative service to other units within the hospital.

Outpatient Services

Dermatology Outpatient Clinics are conducted in Level 8 Outpatients at the following times.

  • Monday morning
  • Monday afternoon
  • Wednesday morning
  • Thursday morning
  • Thursday afternoon
  • Friday afternoon

Referrals require a letter from a general practitioner and can be made on (08) 8222 5583.

Dermatology Day Care Treatment Center

This offers an alternative to inpatient care for patients with severe skin conditions such as psoriasis and dermatitis. It is intended that treatment through this facility provides minimum disruption to a patient's daily life.

Services provided include:

  • Occlusive dressing
  • Baths
  • Phototherapy
  • Iontopheresis
  • Ulcer Clinic

The Day Care Center is staffed by medical Specialists, specialist nurses as well as experienced physiotherapists and dietitians.
