PERSONNEL DIRECTORY

The daily responsibility of both the General Operating Rooms Complex and the Emergency Surgical Suite is held by a Clinical Nurse Consultant, who together with the Duty Anaesthetist ensures the service provided in both areas.

The current structure of our Operating Rooms consists of:

This gives a complement of 47.3 FTE.

CLINICAL NURSES

All clinical nurses are expected to fully manage their clinics through education programs for all rotating nursing staff, alter staff times to suit operating lists and to participate in quality improvement programs.

All clinical nurses are provided with a Project Day per month to assist in maintaining this expectation.

Ms Rae Freebairn - General Surgery
Responsible for Breast / Endocrine, Colorectal, Hepatobilary and Professorial Surgical teams with a surgeon client base of 14.

Ms Trudi Bizillis - Neurosurgery
Responsible for neurosurgical team.

Ms Margaret Smith - Gynaecology
Responsible for the elective Gynaecological Surgical team as well as several other clinic lists such as Breast / Endocrine, Oral Surgery and ENT Surgery.

Ms Sue Cobb - Plastics / Craniofacial
Responsible for all elective Plastics and Craniofacial Surgery teams with a surgeon client base of 9.

Ms Siew Mee Ng - Vascular
Responsible for all elective Vascular Surgery teams with a surgeon client base of 4.

Mr Neil Graham - Urology
Responsible for all elective Urology Surgery teams with a surgeon client base of 4.

Orthopaedics
Responsible for all elective Orthopaedic Surgery teams with a surgeon client base of 18.

Ms Louise Nelson - ENT / Oromaxillofacial
Responsible for all elective ENT and Oromaxillofacial Surgery teams with a surgeon client base of [xx].

Special Interest: Laser Surgery

Ms Sue Glover - Day Surgery
Responsible for all elective Day Surgery lists which include a full range of speciality surgery.

Ms Siew Kim Teo - Opthalmology
Responsible for all elective opthalmology lists with a surgeon client base of [xx].

Ms Julie Edwards - Booking
Responsible for all throughput and booking lists. These lists are provided for surgical procedures which were unable to be completed on regular elective lists or are urgent and clinics require extra surgical time to complete them.

Ms Sue Richardson - Emergency Surgical Suite
Responsible for the daily lists booked into the Emergency Surgical Suite. These responsibilities include staff management and equipment provision for urgent or emergency procedures booked into this area.
