All Broken Hill patients are to be treated as South Australians upon accessing our services and therefore do not require droplet precautions or any other specific COVID-19 precautions. Please refer to the SA Health PPE matrix for the latest recommendations of PPE use.
Any Broken Hill inpatient requiring transfer to an SA hospital does not need to apply in advance for an exemption. This will be taken care of by SAPOL as part of the patient’s border crossing and arrival in South Australia. In this instance, hospitals will continue to use their usual hospital transfer process.
Any Broken Hill or NSW resident that requires treatment/ review at a South Australia hospital will need to complete the cross border travel registration form at least 14 days before they leave.
All travellers intending to enter SA should are required to register their intention to travel. This includes people entering from unrestricted states (ACT, NT, QLD, TAS, NSW and WA).
Please be aware that if you are driving to SA from any unrestricted states (see above), you MUST NOT drive through VICTORIA to enter SA.
