COVID-19 Vaccination Direction

On 12 August CALHN introduced a new CEO COVID-19 Vaccination Direction for staff working within the COVID-19 patient pathway high risk areas.

The Direction requires all CALHN staff working or consulting within the defined COVID-19 patient pathway to be vaccinated with:

  • one dose of the COVID-19 vaccination by Thursday, 19 August 2021
  • a second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination by 19 September 2021.

We would like to remind you that the deadline for staff within this group to receive their second dose is this Sunday, 19 September 2021. As per the Direction, staff who are not fully vaccinated (2 doses) will be not be rostered to work within the COVID-19 pathway from 19 September.

Vaccination is the most effective way to protect patients and ourselves against COVID-19 as the COVID-19 pathway remains one of the highest areas of risk for our workforce. Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is the best thing that can be done to protect ourselves, our loved ones and our patients.

Thank you to the many staff who have let us know that they have received their vaccination by emailing a copy of their vaccination certificate.

If you are yet to receive your second dose, or, have not advised us that you have received it, please follow the below steps.

Second dose vaccine and certificate submission

If you have not yet received your second dose, you can access it by walking into the Wayville Vaccination Clinic or the City Vax Clinic based in the Myer Centre City on level 3 where you can access the Pfizer vaccine.

If you receive or have received your COVID-19 vaccination at a non-CALHN vaccination site (Women’s and Children’s Hospital, your local GP etc), please provide evidence of your vaccination by emailing a copy of your COVID-19 Vaccine Record to Health.CALHNCovidVaccination@sa.gov.au.

To download a copy of your COVID-19 vaccination certificate, follow the instructions here.

If you are not intending to receive the second dose of the vaccination, please complete and return the refusal form aka the ‘declination form.

If you have any queries, please visit the intranet to read our updated FAQ or speak with your manager.

At CALHN we play a significant role in the State’s response to COVID-19 with the RAH as the receiving hospital for adults across South Australia and this Direction was issued to help the network to meet its obligation and priority to provide a safe workplace for all our staff and our patients during this global pandemic.

Walk in service for COVID-19 pathway staff children aged over 12

To help make it easier for you to access the vaccine, all CALHN staff and household members of the COVID-19 patient pathway can use the walk-in service at the Wayville clinic. This now also includes children of pathway staff members aged 12 years and over.
