Guidelines during and outside a COVID surge

The below is to help staff navigate PPE, physical distancing, work arrangements and other guidelines during and outside a COVID-19 surge. More detailed information can be found on our other COVID-19 information for staff pages.

As of 18 January 2023 we are now outside of a surge period.

For staff

During COVID surge All other times
Mask wearing N95 masks worn in all clinical areas

Surgical masks worn in office/Blue space
All staff to wear surgical masks

N95 masks are required for enhanced respiratory precautions and aerosol generating procedures
Eye protection No change at this time. Worn for:
  • Enhanced respiratory precautions (ERP)
  • Aerosol generating procedure (AGP)
  • Aerosol generating behaviour (AGB)
Staff COVID-19 testing RAT schedule as directed. Surveillance RATs if at risk, PCR if symptomatic
Meeting rooms

MS Teams or Zoom preferred unless essential

  • Physical distancing (1.5 metres)
  • Surgical masks
  • Preference no food or drinks
Food halls Reduced density No restrictions beside usual physical distancing
Communication
