The move is now complete
The move to the new Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH), the largest ever transfer of hospital patients in South Australia, has been completed.
In total, 297 patients were transferred over two and half days. Our final patient, Ronald, was farewelled at the old RAH with a guard of honour, with over 100 doctors, nurses and support staff gathering to deliver a heartfelt goodbye.
A special thanks to the entire South Australian health system, including the metro and country hospitals who supported the RAH ramp down, SA Ambulance Service for their professionalism in safely transferring patients from the old hospital to the new, staff and volunteers for ensuring patient safety always remained the first priority and finally, the public for their patience during this extraordinary time.
