White Ribbon Day March

On Saturday 25 November 2017, Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) Senior Project Officer, Vicky Welgraven, attended the Adelaide White Ribbon Day March in acknowledgment of her role as an official White Ribbon Advocate for South Australia.

The Adelaide White Ribbon Day March began at 10am from Victoria Square (Tarndanyangga) and finished at the Parliament House Steps with speeches from Vicky and other White Ribbon Advocates. Vicky spoke about gender equality, respectful relationships and the impact of violence and abuse, whether that be in the workplace or an individual's personal life.

In recognition of White Ribbon Day, a number of events were held at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Adelaide Dental Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

In May 2017, CALHN received accreditation as a White Ribbon Organisation after undertaking an extensive application process. The CALHN White Ribbon Working Group has representation from the major directorates and areas within CALHN as well as people in influential leadership roles and diverse backgrounds. The group works to implement the White Ribbon standards into our organisations culture and acknowledges there is still ongoing work required.
