A shortlist of applications will be selected by an external panel and invited to submit a full application.

Applications for CALHN CEO CRIPS Grants will be a two-step process:

1. Expression of Interest 

This initial application step will include the clinical research team details and a project synopsis, which will be evaluated by an External Assessment Panel.

2. Invited Full Application

Top ranked Expressions of Interest will be invited to submit a Full Application.

Full applications will be evaluated by the CALHN Executive Expert Panel (i.e. CALHN Governing & Executive Board, or other personnel at the discretion of the CALHN CEO) and may be requested to attend an interview.

Up to four (4) grants will be awarded.

Scores/rankings will not be disclosed to applicants. The Review Panel’s decision is final and no further correspondence will be considered.

Timeline

These criteria include:

• Chief Investigator-A (CI-A, Principal Investigator) must be a member of the CALHN clinical staff working at CALHN sites:
  • Royal Adelaide Hospital
  • The Queen Elizabeth Hospital
  • Hampstead Rehabilitation Hospital
  • Mental health services at Glenside Health Service.
  • Statewide Rehabilitation Services at the Repat Health Precinct
• Up to 3 additional chief investigators (CI-B, C or D) may be included in the application but a staff member may only be listed as CI-A on one application.
  
  NOTE: We encourage diversity and inclusivity regarding Chief Investigators.

• Current CRIPS grant recipient chief investigators cannot be the CI-A for this application round but may fulfil the role of CI-B, C or D on other applications.
• The project must be primarily based within CALHN but collaboration with other institutions/networks is strongly encouraged.
• If funding is being sought to support the employment of the CIA, this must be at CALHN and not an external Institution.

After Expressions of Interest are screened for eligibility, the following scoring matrix will be used by external assessors to score each application.

Assessors will not assess an application if there is a direct conflict of interest.
