Is the emergency department the best place for you?

If not, there are other options

Accommodation

Visitor accommodation has been built into general inpatient rooms at the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH), enabling a relative or carer to stay overnight when it is in the patient’s best interests.

Each general inpatient room features a visitor bed. Access to the day bed must be approved by the senior nursing staff on each ward as there may be times when access to this bed is not possible. Linen packs are available to hire. Proceeds will go to the RAH Research Fund.

While the visitor accommodation will allow more carers and family members to remain with their loved one, information on the following pages may also be of assistance.

Do you live more than 100km away?

Country patients may be eligible for financial assistance towards the cost of travel and accommodation under the Patient Assistance Transport Scheme (PATS).
